The 2015 World Crowdfunding Conference has brought significant opportunities for Guizhou’s opening up and innovation, says Sun Zhigang, acting governor of Guizhou on Saturday.
He says the conference, which kick off Saturday in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, is an important platform for communication for global dealers, service providers, angel investors, entrepreneurs and innovators, and hopes people of vision from the world to work together to open up new space for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Relying on the national big data platform, Guizhou will seize the opportunities brought by Internet finance to accelerate the establishment of institutional mechanisms and policy initiatives which fit the new economic types, such as crowdfunding, he adds.
Guizhou has taken the lead to set up the country’s first crowdfunding finance exchange this May and is striving to build a “world crowdfunding capital”.
According to a report on global crowdfunding industry, in 2014, $16.2 billion was raised by the crowdfunding industry globally, an increase of 167 percent.
The Chinese government attaches importance to the growth of the crowdfunding industry, and has made it clear to guide and encourage the healthy development of crowdfunding financing platforms.
