Image of dragon-shaped river captured
An entry posted by the Weibo account of Tiangongzhiyan went viral on Tuesday.
It reads: (We) just saw with the infrared hyperspetral imaging a huge dragon-like pattern on the main stream of the Luanhe River at the junction of Chengde and Tangshan, in northern China's Hebei province. And (we) will present this "Chinese dragon" as a gift to the motherland. Wish her a happy birthday!
Although the entry was posted in last year, it gets popular very quickly among Chinese netizens again as China will celebrate its National Day on Oct. 1.
In the image, the river is like a huge dragon, similar with the description of the mythology.
The image is claimed to be captured by infrared hyperspetral imaging of the Tiangong-1, China's first space lab, but it has not yet be confirmed.
It is reported that the water temperature is higher than that of the surrounding mountains at night, therefore the river shows bright color in the infrared image.
