Liu Qin, 21, should have enjoyed the best the age of her life in university, however, she has to be attached to home because of the illness. Suffering from craniopharyngioma for 12 years, Liu still couldn't give up her dream to be a music teacher.
Liu was born in 1994 in Xiangxiang, central China's Hunan province. She loves music since she was a little girl. When she was three, her parents bought her a piano. Since then, the piano has become her playmate. Liu practices piano after school every day, but a disease has changed everything.
"I always remember the day when the medical test results came out. My mother held the examination report with tears dropping on her face, as if the sky had fallen down," Liu said. Since then, she has gone frequently between the hospital and home. Craniopharyngioma, the strange word, has grown up together with her.
Affected by the disease, Liu Qin suffers from overweight, decreased vision and memory loss...
In 12 years, Liu has experienced seven major surgeries including four craniotomies. She was on the brink of life and death several times.
The difficulties did not defeat Liu Qin and her family. Receiving medical treatment actively, Liu keeps learning and remains optimistic at the same time. As long as the physical condition permits, she would immediately return to school and follows piano and singing courses on weekends.
"My daughter always has a dream to become a music teacher. She never gives up her dream," said Liu Dali, father of Liu Qin. He is trying to find a right school to help her daughter realize her dream.
