China held a grand military parade to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on Sept. 3. The V-day parade not only draws a lot attention nationally, but also becomes the focus of global attention. Hundreds of millions Internet users have witnessed this grand event in Tian'anmen Square and along the Chang'an Avenue of Beijing.

From 8 am to noon on Sept. 3, there were over 1 billion concurrent users watching or following the commemoration activities and military parade online globally. The number of articles about the event had reached 20 million with over 800 million clicks and 100 million follow-up comments. About 1 billion people paid close attention to the parade news post on Sina Weibo, and over 10 million people participated in the discussion. In addition, about 30,000 parade-related articles were released on Wechat, and over 250 million Internet users watched the live broadcast of the parade.

Internet user named "Grace_Duanting" comments with excitement, "It is the glory day for Chinese people, and also an anniversary for all the peace-loving people around the world. With the raising of national flag and resounding of the gun salute, we may not be at the parade site or wear a military uniform, but our blessing hearts for the motherland are all fully prepared to be reviewed."

Watching the formations of veterans in vehicles marching through the Tian'anmen Square, "Mayingsun" posts: A true hero never dies. The formations of veterans are so touching, probably no one would know what it really took to walk through misery to glory better than they do.

After watching President Xi Jinping's speech during the commemoration activity, "Lei Xiying" comments: President Xi's speech has passed on a clear-cut original intention about the grand parade on the V-day — it is a solemn event to commemorate the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, to reminisce the martyrs, and to deliver Chinese people's faith of harmony and amity.

Other Internet users also post follow-up comments that say cutting 300,000 troops not only shows China's confidence as being a big country, but also reveals China's greatest sincerity on peaceful development.

Internet users have launched the "Fingertips guard grand parade", an patriotic activity, which reached the climax pageview on Sept. 3. Just on Sina Weibo alone, the hot topic had attracted over 140 million participants.

Foreign internet users and media also pay close attention to the grand V-Day parade and congratulate China on the event. Many netizens think China made important contribution to the victory of World War II and plays an important role in safeguarding world peace. The military parade is a wise move for China to take the history as a mirror to guide the future. As a major world economic and military power, China has set a good example for Asia and the rest of world in maintaining regional and global peace and stability.
