There is no doubt that Liu Chuanzhi, the founder of "Lenovo Empire" is China’s IT icon. Liu said that he went through life and death during his entrepreneurial path. However, he has been very happy, because there is an eternal ideal in his heart. Sometimes, temporary compromises were made for stepping forward to achieve your ideal, Beijing News reported.
In 1984, Liu founded Lenovo (whose English name was originally Legend), with a group of ten other engineers in Beijing with 200,000 yuan and an office roughly 20 square yards in size. Till now, his Legend Holdings, parent of the world's largest PC maker Lenovo Group, listed its shares on the Hong Kong stock market.
Liu Chuanzhi, 71, is regarded as the "godfather of entrepreneurs." His entrepreneurial story is regarded as a successful footnote of China's reform and opening up.
Liu Chuanzhi said that sometimes, compromises were made for steps forward. Entrepreneurs should make clear their original target, and stick to it and march towards the goal.
Liu was once asked to write down a personal evaluation, assuming he was on a crashing plane. He unveiled his answer, saying "I felt lucky to be in a great era. It is a happy thing that I am not too old to start up my own business. Secondly, in my whole life, I am able to achieve my goal. At the same time, the people around me sincerely treat me well. I feel very warm."
