
NANJING, June 12 -- An explosion and ensuing fire hit a chemical plant in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing on Friday night, fire fighters said
An epoxyethane device at a plant in the chemical industry park in Nanjing got exploded and then triggered fire at about 9:15 p.m.. The fire spread to three of six chemical tanks nearby.
Each tank has a storage capacity of 1,000 cubic meters.
Workers have moved to safe areas after the explosion.
More than 200 fire fighters arrived at the site to put out the fire.
