Beijing’s first intangible cultural heritage (ICH) museum, which is home to more than 180 exhibits, was opened on Wednesday. The museum is located in Dongcheng District.

ICH inheritors will be regularly invited to present their skills in the DIY Area of the museum. ICH is different from tangible relics and we should develop the living heritage while inheriting it, said an official of the Dongcheng Cultural Committee, adding that with an increasing number of pieces of collection, the museum will be expanded to Beijing's biggest ICH museum with the most complete exhibits.

As of 2014, 136 items from Dongcheng District had been listed in the district inventory of ICH, among which 60 being listed in municipal inventory and 31 being listed in China's national inventory.
