After the premiere of Lady Zhaojun, his latest stage production in Beijing in mid-April this year, which tells the story of Wang Zhaojun, one of the four famous legendary beauties of China, cross-dressing artist Li Yugang performed Flower in Mirror, Moon in Water, the first original show he produced in 2011, last weekend at Beijing's Century Theater.

He first performed the role of Wang Zhaojun in Flower in Mirror, Moon in Water, which inspired him to make a whole production based on the historic figure, who was sent by Emperor Yuan to marry the Xiongnu Chanyu in order to establish friendly relations with the Han Dynasty through marriage.

Li shot to fame in 2006 by performing on the popular CCTV reality show Star Boulevard. Since then, the 37-year-old has won the hearts of Chinese audiences with his exquisite costumes and unique interpretation of female roles by combining traditional Peking Opera with pop music.
