Representatives of Dungan people, an ethnic minority of Chinese origin living in Central Asian countries, stroke an ancient city gate as a tradition in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, May 25, 2015. Some ten representatives of Dungan people from Kazakhstan had their homecoming to Shaanxi Monday. The Dungan people, numbering over 100,000, are descendants of Muslim families previously living in China's Gansu and Shaanxi provinces who fled their homes approximately 120 years ago after aborted uprisings against the government of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
