China's equipment manufacturing industry exhibition opened in Rio de Janeiro of Brazil on the morning (local time) of May 20, 2015. This is the first Chinese equipment manufacturing industry exhibition held in Latin American countries, also the largest exhibition of its kind held abroad in recent years. The 30 participating companies were all leading companies in China's equipment manufacturing industry, and many of them have already invested to build factories in Brazil and other Latin American countries.
The three-day exhibition consists of 10 sections, including rail and rail transportation equipment, electrical equipment, communications equipment and information technology, oil and petrochemical equipment, metallurgy building materials and equipment, construction machinery, aerospace, automotive, financial support and other industries.
These exhibits not only include the products and project models of high-speed rails, nuclear power plants, new building materials, offshore drilling platforms made in China, but also some products of Chinese brand made in Brazil such as construction machinery, automobiles and electric buses. These exhibits presented the results of Sino-Brazilian cooperation in the field of the real economy.
Latin America is one of the areas with many developing and emerging countries. China and Latin America have a solid tradition of friendship and are in similar development stage, which are highly consistent with the development strategy and enjoy great potential for cooperation.
Jiang Zengwei, who is in charge of this exhibition and the Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), indicated that this exhibition directs attention of leaders in politics and business to bilateral cooperation in the field of infrastructure, capacity and equipment manufacturing industry. It also gives impetus to the "going out" plan for China's high quality production, technology and equipment, and builds a platform for dialogues between companies in the two counties, thus promoting Sino-Brazilian cooperation in industrial capacity and equipment manufacturing to a higher level.
