The East Flyover locates at the junction of Shengli East Road and Jiulong Road of Zhangzhou, southeast China's Fujian province. Covering 14 hectares, the flyhover was put into service in 1997. It used to be the largest flyhover in Fujian province and a landmark in Zhangzhou.
According to a latest test report, lateral movement has occurred in eight ramps in the flyover, which poses danger to road users. Traffic police have banned vehicles to cross the flyover.
The government of Zhangzhou city, after consultation with experts, has decided to demolish the flyover. The land will be turned into greenbelt.
