Press conference for “Feel the Polish Splendor” Asian cultural project held in Beijing

Beijing, April 21 (People’s Daily Online) Following the success of the “Treasures from Chopin’s Country:Polish art from the 15th-20th century" held in National Museum, Culture.pl, the culture promotion brand under Poland Adam Mickiewicz Institute announced that it would bring more brilliant cultural activities for Chinese audience together with the Polish Embassy in Beijing.

At the press conference for “Feel the Polish Splendor” Asian Cultural Project in Beijing on April 21, Magdalena Czechonska, director of Culture Office of Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beijing delivered a speech and declared this news.

According to Marcin Jacoby, director of Asia Affairs, Poland Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the project, which will run for six months from February 2015 will launch a series of cultural activities covering numerous areas such as theatre, film, art show and others in Beijing, Wuhan and Tianjin. Polish culture heritages and the modern and contemporary art work will be exhibited.

Krzysztof Zanussi, a noted Polish film director, introduced the important status of Polish School in the world film history and its effect on world film. He also discussed the effect of the Second World War on Polish films with the reporters on the spot.

Liu Lihua, editor in chief of New Star Press and Shan Wanli, a researcher of China Film Art Research Centre, have jointly introduced the new book Polish Contemporary Film.

Culture.pl is a national institute promoting Polish culture and Polish national image to the world under Poland Adam Mickiewicz Institute. Till now, the cultural activities it promoted have spread to 26 countries, allowing 40 million people to enjoy the best drama, design, visual art, music and film from Poland.
