On April 8, 2015 in Guangzhou, the "National Moral Model" Liu Ting made her entrance as a woman for the first time in her 29 years.

Liu Ting was born a boy in 1986. His mother contracted uremia when he was only 13 years old. He started to take care of her while attending school at the same time. He was awarded the title of "National Moral Model". But the halo was a burden. Liu Ting had transsexualism, and he became more anxious and solitary. Finally he made up his mind to become a woman.

Liu's mother, Lu Yongmin took Liu Ting to a psychologist in 2013. "I understood once the doctor explained things to us — it is not him that is choosing to be a woman; he was born a woman. I hope my child can have a unified body and soul." Now Lu is really happy for Liu Ting, and is grateful to have such a beautiful girl.

As for Liu Ting, she now feels as if reborn. "I was so depressed before, feeling everything about me was wrong," she says. "When I was awarded the title, I did not know how to behave in public. No matter what I did, I never felt things were right." Now she is much more positive about her life and future.
