140-million-year-old dinosaur fossil found in Chongqing
Strange and mysterious things lie just beneath the surface of China's land. In January, a herdsman found a 7.85-kilogram chunk of gold in Qinghe county, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, but the story does not end there.
Xie Xiuming and his wife found six weird stones in October and February at the roots of a cypress while cutting wood near Jinzhong village of Hechuan district, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, Chongqing Business Times reported.
After experts examined them, these stones turned out to be the fossilized hind legs of a dinosaur.
After analyzing the fossils, a senior engineer from Chongqing Municipality Geology Exploration Bureau said that they are from a dinosaur that lived 140 million years ago.
