Without property purchase restrictions and skyrocketing property price, Yanjiao have helped at least 300,000 people realize their "Beijing Dream." Working in Beijing and sleeping in Yanjiao become the lifestyle of those people who live in two cities.
To facilitate the life for those people, a bullet train linking the two cites started operation this year. But only a few days after the service was launched, the occupancy fell below 30 percent. Some of the cars were even vacant. When the first bullet train started operation on Jan. 12, every car was full and some passengers even had to stand. Just after a dozen days, the number of the passengers almost hit the bottom. Some passengers said that the time and price were the principal factors that made them give up the bullet train.
