A girl born to save brother’s life

In Jinan Military Region General Hospital, there is a 2-year old girl Li Yuling. Her brother Li Qian got Leukemia five years ago and his disease has to be treated via bone marrow transplant. Then their parents decided to give birth to another baby for matched bone marrow.

In February 2012, Li Yuling was born. Unfortunately, her brother’s condition got worse. The bone marrow of Li Yuling does not match with her brother’s. So her brother had to wait for matched bone marrow. One month ago, he finally had the surgery of bone marrow transplant.

The surgery was successful, but Li Qian got serious rejection reaction - oral ulcer, pulmonary infection, edema. Li Yuling has brought happiness to her brother. She always takes photo of her brother.

“When you get better, you can play with me,” Little Yuling often said this to her brother. When her brother plays Rubik’s Cube, Yuling would be attracted and ask for the Cube. Her brother would laugh and say, “You are too young to play it.” Yuling has no toys. She always plays with a water barrel.

When her brother falls asleep, Li Yuling would play quietly herself. The family has sold all their belongings including their house for the treatment.
