SEOUL, Jan. 12-- Two people were dead, with four others injured, in a nitrogen gas leak incident of LG Display, South Korea leading display panel maker, Yonhap News Agency reported Monday.

The nitrogen gas was leaked at about 12:50 p.m. in a display panel plant owned LG Display. The factory is located in Paju, some 40 km northwest of capital Seoul.

The gas valve was opened for an unidentified reason while the workers of LG Display's contract companies were checking facilities, leaving two dead and four others wounded.

Among those wounded, one worker was in a critical condition, raising possibilities for a rise in death toll.

In December last year, the nitrogen gas was leaked at a construction site of a new nuclear reactor being built in Ulsan, the country's southeastern port city, leaving three people dead.
