JAKARTA, Jan. 10 -- Indonesia has prepared to lift up the tail part of crashed AirAsia flight QZ8501 as weather in the crash area has improved, the Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency ( BASARNAS) said Saturday.

"The lifting up process is underway now, using both floating balloons and a crane. Fifteen divers have been sent to handle the process from below the surface,"BASARNAS operational director Suryadi B. Supriyadi told Xinhua by phone while monitoring the process in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan province.

He said that floating balloons are used to raise the tail part from the seabed. The crane, that has already been prepared in the navy ship, would tow the tail part and brings it to the navy ship.

Speaking onboard the navy ship, Indonesia Military Commander General Moeldoko said that the check of whereabouts of the black boxes will be carried out by military's navy experts who have been recently undergone training. "If the (weather) condition is favorable, the checking process would be conducted onboard the ship," Moeldoko was quoted as saying by local TV station TVONE.

The efforts to hoist the tail part failed Friday due to the bad weather in the crash site.

Meanwhile, the Indonesia authorities have also sent divers to locate the ping signals from the crashed flight which were detected Friday morning and believed to be from the black boxes.

AirAsia flight QZ8501, with 162 people onboard, downed in Indonesia's Java Sea near Karimata Strait during its flight from Surabaya to Singapore on Dec. 28.

So far, 48 bodies have been recovered from the sea, with 27 of them being already identified.
