Beijing, Jan. 8 (People’s Daily Online) — People’s Daily Online launched today a Portuguese website (portuguese.people.cn) as part of its continuing effort to enhance global influence.
The website aims to introduce information about China’s politics, economy, society, education, science, culture and tourism to Portuguese-speaking readers. It will strive to create a new platform of understanding and communication between readers in China and in Portuguese -speaking countries including Portugal, Brazil, Angola and Mozambique.
People’s Daily Online has attached great importance to enhance its global influence in recent years. The Portuguese version, being the ninth foreign language version of People.cn, will create a new platform for communication between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and will open a new chapter in cultural exchanges between them.
People’s Daily Online now offers service to world readers in nine foreign languages - English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Korean, German and Portuguese.
