SURABAYA, Indonesia, Jan. 2 -- Experts at the disaster victim identification (DVI) team were identifying eight bodies at police hospital Bhayangkara in Surabaya, the capital city of East Java province, police said here on Friday.
The provincial police spokesman Awi Setiyono reaffirmed at the hospital that besides the eight bodies, previously one has been successfully identified and was buried by her family on Thursday.
Head of National Search and Rescue Agency H. Henry Bambang Sulistyo said that search operation persisted on Friday.
To facilitate the operation, one tanker ship owned by the Indonesia's upstream oil and regulatory body, or SKK Migas would sail to the sea to supply oil for rescue ships, said Sulistyo.
