Yalin's father Zeng Kailiang was diagnosed with late stage uremia in 2012. He is a single dad supporting two girls. The illness has used up all of his savings as a salesman. Though a matching kidney has been found for him, the cost of 300,000 to 500,000 yuan is still unaffordable for the family."My dad found a matching kidney but couldn't afford it. So I brought my gold medals today, hoping someone would offer to buy them and raise some money. Please help me," a crying Zeng Yalin told journalists on the phone.

"I feel really bad that she has to go through so much for me," said her father. "She used to be very naughty. After I got sick, she became so thoughtful and frugal. I feel bad that it's so hard for me to be a good father to her."

Zeng Kailiang used to be a Red Cross volunteer. Since 2008, he had devoted himself to all kinds of programs for public good. Zeng thinks that helping others is a way to fulfill oneself. However, when volunteers like him are in need, there is no organization to give them systematic help. Zeng is now calling for a volunteer's fund to help volunteers.
