TEHRAN, Dec. 18 -- Iran's top nuclear negotiator has said the current round of talks should continue so they bear results, state-run IRIB TV reported on Thursday.
Abbas Araqchi, the senior nuclear negotiator, made the remarks following a meeting Wednesday at the deputy ministerial level in Geneva between Tehran and the so-called P5+1 group.
"Productive, positive discussions were held and all the topics were reviewed one more time," IRIB TV quoted Araqchi as saying.
The P5+1 group comprises Germany and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council -- Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States.
Araqchi described the atmosphere at the discussions as good, adding that "further meetings will be held."
"As for the date of the next round of meetings, we are in negotiations and they will most likely be held next month," he added.
Talks between Iran and the P5+1 group resumed on Wednesday, weeks after failing to meet a Nov. 24 deadline for a comprehensive nuclear deal.
