BEIJING, November 18 (People’s Daily Online)–Alberto Bradanini, Italian ambassador to China, expressed his hope that China and Italy would advance a win-win cooperation for food safety through the bilateral trade in agricultural products.

The annual 100ITA Project Global Event, a platform of promoting wine, olive oil and other Italian agricultural products in China, made its debut in 2013. It brings together selected Italian food products with certification from the authorities. In 2014, 100ITA brings together about 20 Italian producers of olive oil, craft beer, chocolates and wine.

Bradanini stressed that Italian wine and olive oil have a lion's share in the trade of agricultural products between Italy and China, and pointed out that the Italian food industry is blessed by diverse climatic conditions and a unique production organization, mainly formed by small and medium-sized enterprises.

The huge Chinese market is an irresistible attraction for Italian producers of agricultural products. Due to the bloom of online shopping in China, 100 ITA focuses more on the promotions on major e-commerce portals, including 360buy, Tmall and Amazon.

The companies that participated in the event will attend the B2B meetings organized in collaboration with Italian ICE and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China and receive trainings about the Chinese market in the coming week.
