NANNING, Nov. 16 -- One child died and another one was seriously injured after being stabbed by a woman in south China on Sunday.
A knife-wielding woman of about 40 years old attacked two children in Beihai City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region at around 10 a.m. A three-year-old boy died and a girl aged nine is being treated in the hospital, local authorities said.
The suspect together with a kitchen knife and a dagger were seized by police. An initial investigation showed that the woman may have mental illness. Further investigation is under way.
Also in Guangxi, a man killed four students in a knife attack on their way to school on Sept. 26 in and then fled. The suspect's body was found in the mountains in early October.
