BEIJING, Nov. 9 -- Top Chinese legislator Zhang Dejiang on Sunday met with Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Zhang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), said China and Mongolia should deepen political understanding and mutual trust, treat each other with sincerity and respect and strengthen the bilateral economic cooperation.
Zhang said China's NPC is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the State Great Hural of Mongolia to promote the development of bilateral relationship.
The Mongolian president said Mongolia cherishes the Mongolia-China comprehensive strategic partnership and is willing to strengthen the exchanges between the two legislatures.
When meeting with Harper, Zhang said China's NPC is willing to enhance friendly exchanges with the Parliament of Canada and will take advantage of the regular communication mechanism to build a sound legal and social environment.
Harper said Canada attaches great importance to its strategic partnership with China and is willing to promote exchanges between the two legislatures to push forward the all-round cooperation between the two countries.
