The two leaders underlined the consensus in the congratulatory messages they exchanged on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China-UAE diplomatic relations.
In his message, Xi noted that the Chinese and UAE governments and peoples have enjoyed mutual respect and sincere cooperation and forged a deep friendship over the past three decades.
Since the establishment of the China-UAE strategic partnership in 2012 especially, bilateral ties have witnessed all-round and fast development, with fruitful cooperation carried out in various fields, bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples, Xi said.
Now as the Chinese and UAE peoples are both striving for national development, bilateral cooperation has broad prospects, added the Chinese president.
Stressing that he attaches high importance to the China-UAE relationship, Xi said Beijing stands ready to work with Abu Dhabi to strengthen political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and increase people-to-people exchanges, so as to push forward the development of the two countries' strategic partnership.
For his part, Khalifa said the two countries have laid a solid foundation for bilateral ties through joint efforts in the past 30 years, with friendship growing increasingly deep and cooperation bearing rich fruit.
Noting that Xi's wisdom has provided a robust driving force for the development of UAE-China relations, he wished China continuous progress under Xi's leadership.
