Chinese premier meets Czech president on ties

BEIJING, Oct. 27 -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with visiting Czech President Milos Zeman in Beijing on Monday, vowing to encourage competent Chinese companies to participate in Czech's projects such as the expansion and transformation of its nuclear facilities.

Hailing the huge potential of China-Czech cooperation, Li said China has advanced technology, rich experience and cost-effectiveness in equipment manufacturing industries of nuclear power and high-speed railway.

Applauding the pragmatic talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Zeman, Li said he hoped the two countries would take the opportunity of the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic ties to promote bilateral friendly cooperation up to a new stage.

The cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries meets common interests of both sides, and helps all-round balanced development of China-EU ties, Li said.

China hopes to enhance substantial cooperation with various CEE countries including Czech to realize win-win situation, said the Chinese premier.

Zeman, for his part, said Czech welcomes Chinese companies expanding investment in his country, and participation in building Czech's nuclear facilities.

Czech has successfully hosted the second China-CEE local leaders' meeting in August this year, he said, vowing to continue contributing to stronger bilateral cooperation.

Before arriving in Beijing, Zeman traveled to Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, to attended the 15th Western China International Fair. He also paid a visit to Tianjin.
