BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese security chief Meng Jianzhu on Friday vowed to crack down on transnational crimes with neighboring Nepal as he met with Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam.

Meng, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China and Nepal enjoy friendship and a strong partnership, and that China is willing to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Nepal.

He expressed hope that law-enforcement bodies of the two countries will improve their coordination mechanism and expand cooperation in a bid to jointly safeguard security and stability in the region.

Gautam reiterated Nepal's adherence to the one-China policy, saying the Nepalese side is ready to enhance bilateral cooperation on security.
