NANCHANG, June 25 -- Upset by a bamboo grove which blocked the sun for his cornfield, a Chinese farmer murdered a family of five, including three children, prosecutors in Jiangxi Province said Wednesday.
The suspect Liu allegedly stabbed an elderly couple and their three grandchildren in Huichang County on June 2, according to the county's procuratorate.
Liu had an argument with the couple as he chopped down bamboo that towered over his cornfield. After murdering the couple, Liu decided not to spare the children, all aged six, fearing they might take vengeance when they grew up.
Liu fled to the Guangdong Province after the crime and was captured on June 4.
