BERLIN, May 27 -- A German government spokesman has said that German government was astonished by the terrorist attack in China's Xinjiang, and expressed sympathies to the families and relatives of the victims.
"The Federal Government has noted with horror of the terrorist attack on a market in Urumqi a few days ago," said government spokesman Steffen Seibert at a press conference on Monday.
"Our deepest sympathies go to the families and relatives of the victims," he said.
Explosions rocked an open air market in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on May 22, leaving 39 dead and more than 90 injured.
