Shanghai Vigorously Promotes New Round of East-West Cooperation
Following its investigation in Henan and Shaanxi, the Shanghai Party and government delegation went to the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. With the contracts signed between Shanghai and Ningxia on 29 cooperative projects worth 2 billion yuan, Shanghai has signed contracts for over 200 cooperative projects well over 10 billion yuan with a number of central and western provinces such as Henan, Shaanxi and Gansu.
Huang Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of Shanghai Party Committee, who is leading the delegation on an investigation tour of Ningxia, pointed out that the signing of contracts on large numbers of cooperative projects contains a profound meaning, i.e., both east and west China deeply understand the strategic plan of the Party Central Committee, actively pitch into the great practice of west China development, and strive to bring about national rejuvenation and common prosperity. Huang Ju emphasized the need to go all out to promote a new round of cooperation and exchanges between east and west China with a scientific attitude and innovative ideas. He indicated that Shanghai is actively exploring new ways for the joint development of east and west China in the new century, thereby bringing about new brilliant achievements in the cooperation between Shanghai and various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in western regions.
