The 3rd Meeting of Twinning between Cuban and U.S. Cities began Monday in Havana with the participation of about a hundred Americans coming from various American cities.
President of Cuban National Assembly (Parliament) Ricardo Alarcon said at the opening of the meeting that relations between the two countries can improve through the ties of sister cities.
However, he dismissed the possibility of establishing sister relations for all the U.S. and Cuban cities under current situation, referring to the blockade imposed by the U.S. against the island country.
So far, six cities from both nations have been twinned and 12 others will do so shortly.
