Sci-Tech China Strengthens Cooperation With Overseas Scientific Organizations

China will strengthen cooperation with international organizations and increase academic exchanges between the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Zhang Yutai, vice president of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), said at an annual working conference today that the association will strengthen cooperation with over 250 international scientific organizations and increase China's influence among the international scientific community.

Zhang said that CAST will focus on providing Chinese scientists with every opportunity to work with scientists from around the globe.

Cooperation with science organizations in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao will also be strengthened, said Zhang.

CAST will create favorable conditions for state-owned enterprises in international economic and technological exchanges and help introduce overseas advanced technologies and talent.

CAST encourages Chinese students studying abroad and overseas Chinese scientists to make contributions to the motherland, added Zhang. (Xinhua)
