Education China Invests More in Science, Education in Jan-Nov

China had spent more on science and education in the first 11 months of last year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

Figures from the bureau showed the aggregate investment in scientific research and poly-technical services in the 11 months reached 5.82 billion yuan (about 700.96 million US dollars), an increase of 14.0 percent on an annual basis.

At the same time, investment in education, culture, health care, broadcasting and social welfare amounted to 65.69 billion yuan (about 7.91 billion US dollars), up 15.0 percent year on year.

The Chinese government has placed the development of science and education high on its agenda in an effort to accelerate the country's modernization process.
