Culture Outstanding Youth Volunteers Commended

The Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Central Committee and China Association for Youth Volunteers commended ten outstanding young volunteers and ten youth groups for their outstanding work on January 19.

Those cited included Liu Maogang, an ailing university student who still helped others; Ruan Jingzhou, an academy staff member who led farmers to get rich; He Ke who established a free legal service; Song Yutian, who started a hotline for psychological consultation; Mu Huaping, who organized colleagues to help the poor; Zhou Ning, an outstanding doctor; Yi Honghua, a laid-off worker who continued to render service to the public; Wu Yaocheng, who taught medical skills to others; Lei Zhong, who donated time to do repair work, and; Teng Minglong, a school headmaster.

The groups commended included to a service center for youth volunteers in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, another service network in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, and eight others.
