China Hotline Established for People to Contact Local CPPCC Conference

Local people will have more access to the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) by telephone and Internet, according to an announcement made today by the committee officials.

The Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC has set up hotlines (Numbers: 65262676 and 65272233-601), which will be available beginning January 25, for citizens to learn about the situation and put forward suggestions.

Each afternoon from January 25 to 28, two members of the Municipal Committee of the CPPCC will answer questions and discusses with people by telephone, and incorporate them in motions to be submitted to the Third Plenary Session of the Ninth Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, scheduled from February 14 to 18.

Officials with the committee also said people can go to the Internet (website: http://www.bjzx.gov.cn) to find the latest information on the meeting. (Xinhua)
