Sports China Wins Three Gold Medals at ITTF Pro Finals

China dominated the International Table Tennis Federation's Pro Finals by taking three gold medals out of four in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday. Chen Jing From Taipei of China won the women's single Championship.

Kong Linghui and Ma Lin upset the world No. 2 ranked French pair Patrick Chila and Jean-Philippe Gatien to win the men's doubles 21-12, 21-18, 12-21, 21-13.

Kong, the 1996 singles champion, later lost to fellow Chinese and his 1997 doubles champion partner Liu Guozheng in the men's singles final, 21-18, 21-11, 21-16.

On Saturday night, world number five Wang Nan and Li Ju held off Sun Jin and Yang Ying, who ranked sixth in the world, in an all-Chinese women's doubles finals, 21-9, 21-12, 19-21, 21-18.

The only title slipping away from the Chinese is the women's single won by Chen Jing from Chinese Taipei.

Chen, a former Chinese Olympian, had a hard fight to humble world number two Li Ju of China 21-11, 13-21, 21-18, 6-21, 21-16.

Wang Nan and Li Ju of China beat their teammates Sun Jin and Yang Ying 21-9, 21-12,19-21, 21-18 to win the Women's doubles championship.
