Culture City Wall Repaired in Taiyuan

Part of an ancient city wall inTaiyuan, capital of north China's Shanxi Province has been repaired.

The Gongjimen city wall was built in 1376 in the early Ming (1368-1644). Part of wall has collapsed due to centuries of erosion.The remains of the wall are 278 meters long.

The first part of repairs to the wall are finished, covering the gateway and a 57-meter-long section of the wall. Repairs beganJuly last year. Local authorities estimate that repairs will cost one million yuan.
