Culture Chengdu to Host Folk Art Exhibition in April

An exhibition of Chinese folk art will be held in early April in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The exhibition, scheduled on April 1-4 at the Sichuan Museum, is jointly organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the China Association of Folk Artists and the Sichuan Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

According to the organizers, the exhibition will display a variety of Chinese traditional folk art including wax printing, root-carving, silk embroidery, paper-cuts, opera mask-paintings and clay sculptures.

The exhibition is aimed to preserve and promote the country's national folk arts and introduce these art works to the world market, organizers here noted.

They will also invite via the Internet visitors from home and abroad to attend the exhibition.
