China Approves New Construction, Finance, Census Regulations
China approved three draft regulations on January 10 to ensure quality construction, improve financial supervision, and prepare for a new census.
The Draft Regulation Concerning The Management of The Quality of Construction Projects, The Draft Provisional Regulation Governing the Board of Supervisors of Key State-Owned Financial Institutions, and The Draft Procedures for the Fifth National Census all were approved at the 25th executive meeting of the State Council, presided by Premier Zhu Rongji.
These regulations are expected to clarify the responsibility and obligations of units and people engaged in construction, strengthen the management and supervision of state financial institutions, and define the tasks and other issues of the coming national population census.
