Culture First Ethnic Jingpo Village Completed, Opened to Tourism

Close to mountain Guangshan Village of Longshan County in southwest China's Yunnan Province there is a mountain "Jingpo Tourist Village", a community of the Jingpo nationality and the first of its kind that has lately been completed and opened to Chinese and foreign tourists.

Built at close quarters with Guangshan Village, 3 km to the county seat, run by Jingpo farmers on their own, the village offers an original view of local architectures, life, customs and the primitive religious culture of the Jingpo people and the tropic environment and rain forests of the region. Photo shows Jingpo carpenter Zhang Yaola with his villagers are crafting a totem on matriarchal worship upon the completion and formal inauguration of "Jingpo Tourist Village" to tourism.
