China Zigaze Gathers in 12th Bumper Harvest in 1999

Famed as the "Granary of Tibet", Zigaze has always paid great attention to a growth of agricultural production and popular use of new technologies.

For a speedy development of crop production there had been brought about last year a high crop yield to over 350 million kg of grain in wresting the 12th bumper harvest known in the region. For a 1,357,300kg total of fine seeds swapped and used there are over 902,000 mu of farmlands that have been grown to fine seed strains, accounting for 71.5 percent of the whole farm crop acreage in the region.
