Sunday, January 02, 2000, updated at 10:27(GMT+8) World Canada's Central Ontario Hit by Moderate Earthquake An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit central Ontario, Canada, early Saturday. The quake happened at 6:20 local time 70 kilometers northeast of North Bay, which lasted 10 seconds. Being moderate, it was the largest to hit the region since 1935, according to the local CTV television. There have been no reports of casualties or damages so far.
