Thursday, December 30, 1999, updated at 09:53(GMT+8) World China to Provide Zambia With 3.6 Million US Dollar Aid The Chinese government will provide Zambia with 30 million Renminbi (about 3.62 million US dollars) aid without any conditions according to an agreement signed in Lusaka on December 29. According to the agreement signed by Chinese Ambassador Peng Keyu and Zambian Finance Minister Katele Kalumba their respective governments, the money will be channelled to the interior decoration of Zambia's new government complex for most of the government ministries. At the signing ceremony, the Chinese ambassador said the assistance from China does not attach any conditions. "We are making more and more efforts on promoting bilateral economic cooperation in all areas between our two countries by exploring the great economic potentials in trade and investment," Peng said. On his part, Kalumba expressed profound gratitude to China for providing various types of assistance to his country. The minister appreciated the long and fruitful relations between the two countries and expressed his hope that this cooperation will continue in the new century.
