Business China Invests 43.46 billion yuan in Railway

China poured 43.46 billion yuan into railway construction over the past 11 months of this year, according to the Ministry of Railways.

During the period, some 957.6 km of new railway lines were built and 944.1 km of double-tracks were added, accounting for 72. 6 percent and 96.7 percent of the plan for the year, respectively.

At the same time, some 839.5 kilometers of double-track lines were put into operation.

China plans to invest 55 billion yuan in building 1,320 km of new railway lines, 970 km of double-tracks, and 730 km of electric railways this year. (Xinhua)
