China Macao SAR Executive Council Passes 2 Regulations

The Executive Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on December 28 passed two regulations concerning the organization and operation of the offices of the chief executive and departmental heads, as well as the office of the procurator-general.

They were the first two regulations passed by the Macao SAR Executive Council since the founding of the Macao SAR on December 20.

The code on the offices of the chief executive and departmental heads provides for personnel arrangement, salary and responsibilities of related posts.

The rules on the organization and operation of the offices of the procurator-general say that the office is an independent judicial body led by the procurator-general and composed of 138 employees.

According to a government spokesman, salary and welfare for employees who used to work for the Portuguese Macao government shall remain the same.
