A cultural performance titled " Love Macao, Love China" was held on the evening of December 20 at the Cultural Center in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) as part of a series of activities held by the local people to celebrate the return of Macao to China.

Vice-Premier Qian Qichen and MSAR Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah joined 1,000 people in watching the six-part cultural performance.

Over 300 Macao and mainland artists performed traditional dances and sang songs that tell about the history of China and historical links between Macao and its motherland.

A display of fireworks went on simultaneously with the performance.
