Business Business Soars on Huhhot-Moscow Air Route

Cargo transport business has soared by four-fold this year on the air route from Huhhot, the capital of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to Moscow.

Statistics show that more than 16,000 tons of cargo have so far been carried on the route, and there have been some 350 flights, up 4 and 3.8 times, respectively, on a yearly basis.

Business people favor the route for its the short distance and low transport cost. Huhhot airport has beefed up safety-inspection measures and simplified boarding procedures.

Chinese business people mainly transport leather, textiles, and light industrial goods on the route to the Commonwealth of Independent State (CIS). Authorities note that the brisk demand on the route is expected to continue for at least five more years.
