China Scroll 'Land of 10,000-Li' With Inscriptions Written by Jiang Zemin Is on Show in Macao

A huge scroll of landscape, titled "Land of 10,000-Li" (one li = 0.5 km) with inscriptions written by President Jiang Zemin, was displayed ceremoniously on Macao's Zhidi Square on December 15, 1999.

This scroll of Chinese landscape picture, 99-meter long and 99-cm high, was created by 99 senior calligraphers and painters and based on the Yangtze River as the subject matter. It is a valuable gift presented by Macao's financial circles to the government of the MSAR (Macao Special Administrative Region).
