China Chinese People Greet Macao's Return

Qianmen Subdistrict Office of Chongwen District, Beijing, organizes varied and colorful cultural activities, such as rowing land boats, dancing the yangke dance, pasting up antithetical couplets and hanging up lanterns to greet Macao's home-coming.

(Middle): Shown here are little singers of the "Duo Re Mi Children's Chorus" of Haidian District, Beijing, who lead a chorus of the "Song of Seven Sons", expressing the longing for return to the embrace of the motherland.

(Lower): To celebrate Macao's return to the motherland, a large-scale theatrical performance, centered on "Song of Haojiang", will be staged on December, 21. Pictured here are students of Haojiang High School who are busy rehearsing the gong and drum programs.
